modo - Additional modeling plus materials, lighting & rendering.
Photoshop - texture maps.
Going for something with some complexity & subtlety of form while retaining the simple grace of the original quadric booleans.
Learning about lighting & materials toolsets in modo - once I got the gist, found material creation pretty easy & quite powerful.
